This past month we were lucky enough to host a wonderful community event in conjunction with the always fun Newberg Old Fashioned Festival. As many Newberg residents know, our new location is right in the middle of the big event.
We are so thankful for our community non-profit partners Juliette’s House, Newberg HS Wellness Center, Henderson House, Yamhill Enrichment Society, Safe Families for Children, Safe Route Immigration, and LCSNW Mental Health for hosting games, giving out prizes and entertaining over 200 families after the parade.
We also opened our diaper bank and clothing closet, welcoming many new families, and handing out over 200 diapers to families in need in one day!
Kids had a blast and families learned more about LCSNW programs, as well as other vital community non-profits. We can not wait to do it again next year! We are also looking forward to helping set up events like this in other Yamhill County communities.
If you want to help us set them up, contact the community engagement team at afp@lcsnw.org
